WARNING, world cup brings rubbish beer to SA

As a MALE beer drinking SOUTH AFRICAN I have often had arguments with other MALE beer drinking nafs about the crap beer they drink. The quality of beer produced in South Africa has often been described as “shit”. On this I agree. You see in South Africa we are subjected to South African Breweries mass produced “get them dronk quick” Castle Lager, Black Label and one or two other crappy brands. We have previously relied on beer produced under license AMSTEL LAGER. Then Windhoek came into the market, that raised the bar I must say, yet never really was better than AMSTEL.

Now SAB have lost the rights to AMSTELL, that has gone to Namibia Breweries (Windhoek) they are also partners with HEINEKEN, now much cheaper in SA and seriously growing in popularity.

The problem we now have is the world cup and the crappy sponsor deals that come with it. BUDWEISER, I ask you, WTF? So, as a brand that has absolutely no market share in SA, it is set to be the ONLY beer available at the stadiums during the world cup. They have such a poor South African distribution chain that they have now said they will not be able to supply the fan parks. So what are we gonna drink at the fans parks? Unlabeled SAB beers, yes, no name brand CASTLE, have you ever heard of such bullshit? So WARNING to international tourists, insist on asking for beer by BRAND when in SA, as you never know what is in that “NO NAME BRAND” bottle!

So now? All I can say is I am glad we are running our own FANPARK at a guest house my Bro/Sis have just around the corner from were I live. Anyone wanna watch the games on a big screen with real beer?

  1. They should serve real beer, Jack Black beer, proudly produced in Cape Town

    • Yet, not proudly available at international events.

  2. Heck of a lot of trade marks, copyrights, registered brand names and other such that you have in your post there wise buddy. If any body was any wiser they'd probably want to sue us πŸ™‚ LOL!

Think I'm going to set up a SWC info page soon, and run Windhoek adverts on it.

For free of course. No commercial gain being made here Mr. Fifa Lawyer-shark sir. I wish there was. Be there isn't. Not a cent.

    • HAHAHA! Sorry dude, protected under the "freedom of speech" clause in our constitution……..Also "Right of association" and "Right to opinion".

    • Maybe BLABLA should put up a disclaimer……….not being responsible for bloggers posts or comments?……

      • And maybe FIFA, the LOC and the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa global sponsors should take a collective flying leap off the top of their draconian psuedo-god high horse?

        Okay, okay then. Here:

        Disclaimer

Dear Everyone that we piss off.

I/we/the management/the owner/the owners' pets/my big toe on the left with the rash/etc. are not responsible for anyone pissing you off with anything they say around here.

You see, we sort of like the freedom of expression, reasonable use, open forum and open debate environment we have here. (Hey, we're environmentalists! - Viva Mother Earth, viva!)

If you don't like it so much that people point out your faults, issues, and problems in public, tough. Either go back to North Korea, or get in on the show by applying the same freedoms that you would have here too.

        Now bugger off, I’m tired.

    • I guess you're right. No-one will ever see this article because no-one will ever want to know if the beer at the 2010 World Cup will be rubbish or not. http://tinyurl.com/yzqcgxx
