Twitter Thinks I am Similar to Lady Gaga

Someone sent me this little screen grab recently to show me some of the accounts that Twitter recommends to people when they follow me. It seems that the Twitter thinks I am significantly more important than I actually am…

I’m sort of okay with the first two, but Lady Gaga and Ellen DeGeneres? Not so much.

It’s the sort of thing that I typically don’t pay much attention to. Whenever you follow someone on Twitter, the system makes suggestions of a handful of additional Twitter accounts that you may be interested in because they are “similar”. Which is probably why I’ve never paid much attention to my recommendations – I can’t really follow myself.

So, who does Twitter think you are similar to?

Let’s have your Twitter handle in the comments below. If we don’t already follow you, I’ll get BlaBla to follow you and let you know who Twitter thinks you are similar to. If we do already follow you, I’ll do a quick Unfollow – Refollow to see what it comes up with.

I’m on Twitter as @GregPillhofer and The BlaBla Blog is there as @BlaBlaBlog. Feel free to follow either, neither or both accounts.
