SAMA 2012 Awards: All The Winners
So, after the mini-debacle that was the 2011 SAMA Awards at Monte Casino last year, this year saw the biggest event in South African music returning to its sort-of-ancestral home in Sun City. A revamped format now covering two separate award nights saw the first (Sunday) focusing on the technical awards and the second (Monday) on the music performance awards.
This compacted format allowed for a more punchy ceremony on Monday evening that was broadcast live on SABC and made for a pretty slick, not overly long, awards presentation.
Official titled The 18th Annual South African Music Awards, the 2012 SAMA Awards could easily have been renamed The 2010 Zahara Awards, with the hugely talented and popular songstress picking up an amazing six awards on the night (to add to the two she collected on the first night of awards!)
