Friday Photo 32: Postcard from Mauritius
Wish you were here. Wish I was back here. To celebrate the arrival of October, the Southern Hemisphere’s mid-Spring month, and the fact that most of us are in the midst of a short school vacation, here’s a tempting view of a beach umbrella on the shore at the Prince Maurice Hotel on the beautiful Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.
Shot way back in 2006 when I was last fortunate enough to be there, it reminds me now of the fantastic vacation that I and The Girls had there. And it also suggests that the trip is getting close to becoming only a distant memory that needs to be refreshed soon.
It was also one of the first times that I had used my then recently acquired Canon Rebel XT (as the EOS 350D is known). The shot has been cropped and straightened, and slight colour corrections have been made. Obviously I also set it on a bit of ‘postcard’ frame. Definitely time to go back.
