Friday Photo 10: Clouds on Low

With apologies to Mr. Wordsworth…

I wandered lonely as a cloud, That floats on low o’er vales and hills…

William Wordsworth (1770-1850 / Cumberland / England)

"Clouds on Low" (c) Greg Pillhofer, 2009

An elevated cloudscape taken, somewhat unusually, on land (as opposed to from in the air, in a plane, etc.) This was shot in the early evening at the Kloppenheim Estate, near Belfast in Mpumalanga. The property sits on the side of a hill overlooking a wide valley below, and these low clouds built up from the late afternoon. It’s not often that you get to be above the clouds without leaving the ground.

It has been suggested to me that the large formation on the left of the shot looks like a mans’ face in profile. He is looking off to the right, and has a fairly elaborate pompadour thing going on with his hair. Do you see it too?
