Do South Africans Prefer a Corrupt Police Force?

There has been a massive amount of talk in the media lately about corruption in the police force. The Bees Roux case has brought this to the front pages.

Now I ask you, how many people do not try and “talk” their way out of a traffic fine? When last did you say ” Sorry officer, I deserve the fine” Never? Exactly. So to now lambaste people for slipping the very same officer a R50 note, or buying him lunch to help forget your little law infringement is no different in talking him out of the fine due to the goodness of his heart.

We all now that speeding or driving after a couple of drinks is against the law. But we all subconsciously think we will get away with it. That’s why we push the boundaries now and then. So how are we going to deal with it once the corrupt cops are weeded out? More importantly, how are the cops going to deal with the increased number of cases now that they all make it to the charge office?

Ask yourself, do you really want a honest police force?

  1. YES I want an honest police force.

And it is not about giving a bribe to a police officer/Constable. It is more about them extorting a bribe from the innocent using there authority. And this is the type of lay enforcement meant to lead by example and up hold the law. What a disgrace to South Africa and to their uniform.

My sincere apologies to all those hard working honest and ethical policemen out there but you are by far the rear few
