Nice write up chap. It was a great concert. Longest live set I’ve ever seen and was well impressed by the stamina that not only Bon Jovi showed but the whole of the band especially Tico Torres. It can’t be easy banging the drums for 3 straight hours for anyone never mind an almost 60 year old.
Hope it doesn’t take them another 18 years to come back again.

I’ll have to agree that they put on a very slick show – giving the punters exactly what they wanted. Big up to them.

Having been to see the Chili Peps and Metallica shows over the last couple of months I gotta say these boys are a little too MOR for my taste, they just didn’t bring the same sort of intensity. Thats just my-not-so-humble-opinion; the other 44 999 concert goers seemed to disagree with me. If they like it little bland and shallow who am I to judge?

Hightlight of the evening for me was naturally Jumping Jack Flash & Start Me Up. I would have paid double to see Bon Jovi do Stone’s covers for the entire show.

Really cool to see Phil X doing his thang – and believe me the dude is one ultra talented guitarist. He has somehow never really hit it big but is a bit of a you tube legend. Go Figure.

All in all a great night out – went with a great crowd of peep’s, ran into a whole lot of friends and acquaintances (WTF’s up with that?), had quality hold on to me and snog moments with the missus and was graced with the presence of a yankee-clutch-platey truck driver who shall remain un-named.

Would like to echo your compliments to Big Concerts and the stadium for thier organisation – considering the size of the crowd everything seemed to run rather smoothly.

I’m not sure if I’ll be rushing out for tickets when they come back in 2031.

I grew up in the Highlands North area (Kew) in the 50′s and could so identify with nearly every single thing in Random Kak, While people were inside the Royal Cinema on Louis Botha Avenue, Clifford Telfer & I would hot wire a car that was parked in the one way streets that surrounded it. We would then turn it around and put it back in exactly the same place. At the end of the movie, we stood at the corner to watch peoples reactions! They all were incredulous! ! ! We did it too often so eventually we were arrested. The police however saw the funny side and let us go.
