Original post made 26 Oct 2012:

Someone recently said that “The Best Just Get Bigger”. Well, actually two different people said pretty much exactly the same thing.

What they are really saying in a roundabout sort of way, I believe, is that we will eventually get to see Bon Jovi live in South Africa. Probably in late 2013 or early 2014.

Local Live Nation (who represent Bon Jovi in various parts of the world) affiliate Big Concerts popped a surprise posting onto their Facebook wall earlier today:

Stand back for another massive stadium tour….The Best just got a whole lot Bigger. We’ll confirm the rumours on Monday morning…..

It didn’t take long for people to spot the similarity in wording to that used on the official Bon Jovi site where “Because We Can – The Tour” was announced on Wednesday:

The best just got bigger. Bringing their signature brand of rock ‘n’ roll back to the people, Bon Jovi will hit the road in 2013 to fill stadiums and arenas worldwide with Bon Jovi Because We Can – The Tour

The tour will kick off in North America in February 2013 with dates released for the first leg in Canada already.

The band will then travel throughout Europe, the Far East, Africa, Latin America and Australia.  Because We Can – The Tour will also debut brand new songs from new album What About Now, due out in the first half of 2013.

As soon as there are more details available on Monday we’ll bring them to you right here, and then give you as much info as possible to make sure that band members Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan, Tico Torres and Richie Sambora are welcomed as enthusiastically as only South Africans can. Hopefully it’ll be enough to convince them to return to SA a lot sooner than 20 odd years later again.

As an aside – BlaBla has been tracking the promised visit of Bon Jovi to our fair shores since as far back as January 2011. Two + years early in our initial predictions, I will be hugely skaam if it turns out to be someone else on Monday 🙂

* We made this banner/cover image specifically with Facebook user, Big Concerts Wall regular and Bon Jovi Superfan Amanda Strydom in mind as she complained that the announcement teaser did not come with any image hints from BC this time. You’re welcome Amanda! 🙂
